What was the fault?
– Extensive cable damage in subproviders network.
What caused the fault?
– They had several cables damaged by excavators which ripped and tore through the cables to a very large extent during a third parties repairs of a bike path. 2500 meters of three cables had to be completely replaced which required alot of excavation as previous housing had been damaged.
How was the fault fixed?
– Subprovider replaced 2500 meters of cable.
Is this a permanent solution?
– Yes. However the customers who were rerouted will not be placed back on the permanent solution until an emergency change next week. Affected customer will receive an announcement of the emergency change.

2024-10-04 12:31 – Sub provider informs that repair work is still ongoing on site, they are currently locating were the cable is damaged in order to start their splicing work to permanently repair the damaged cable. Due to extensive amount of damage to the cable is currently not possible to estimate when the work will be completed. The case is currently escalated to the highest stage within sub provider network and they are working on it with the highest priority in order to get this resolved as soon as possible. // Vår underleverantör meddelar oss att arbete just nu fortsatt pågår på site, man gräver för att lokalisera exakt vart alla skador kring kabeln är för att kunna avgöra hur mycket reparationsarbete som kommer att behövas. Med tanke på den stora inverkan detta har är det svårt att sätta en estimerad tid när arbetet kan tänkas vara klart. Ärendet är eskalerat till den högsta instans hos vår underleverantör och det arbetas på med högsta prioritet för att få det åtgärdat så fort som möjligt.

2024-10-03 13:49 – The damage to the cable on site is extensive and it will take some time to be completed. Currently awaiting all the resources needed to start the restoration work. Current ETR for the material to arrive is set to 14:30. We will start reroute work at 14:30 to see if it is possible to restore
the services as a temporary fix untill the restoration work are completed. The temporary fix will not be applicable to all the services affected. // Skadorna på siten är omfattande och det kommer att ta tid att återställa.
